More JD Robb's Book's

Witness In Death ~ B+
In Witness In Death a murder takes live on stage at a play Eve and Roarke are attending. The case of the murder is a little tricky for Eve because the victim wasn't to most well liked of people. We got to see a little more of Eve's past and we also see her more sensitive side. There is some more with Peabody and Mcnab, we also see more of Officer Trueheart. I really liked the ending and final resolution of the case.

Judgment In Death ~ B+
This One begins with the murder of an off duty policeman at a High Class strip club that Roarke owns. The investigation leads Eve to suspecting dirty cops. We got a lot of face time with almost all the major characters in the "In Death" universe. This one was really good and the culprit was a little surprising and their was a good scene near the end .

Betrayal In Death ~ C+
Eve has to solve a series of murders that are all committed by a contract killer whose been in business for 25 years. The first case in the book that lands on Eve radar is maid that is murdered at one of the hotels that Roarke owns, the murder happens while they are attending an event at the hotel. The murders are also connected to Roarke someone has hired the hit man to advert Eve and Roarke attention. I didn't like this one as much has some of the others it was just OK to me.

"Interlude In Death" B+
This is a short story that begins on Roarke's Olympia Resort where Eve and friends are attending a police convention, one of the respected former policeman basically tells Eve that the only criminal he didn't get was her husband Eve and her wants her help getting him. But before Eve can do anything a murder is committed with the evidence pointing to Roarke or one of his employees. For a short story this one was pretty good.

Seduction In Death ~ A+
In this book two killers are killing victims who they met online with a lethal combination of illegal drugs. This book is a little different than the others because you know who the killers are right from the start and are given parts to read from their POV. We have a a lot of interactions with many series regulars plus we get the first meeting of Charles and Louise who instantly fall for each other, and we also get some resolution of Peabody and McNab. I really liked this one it is one of my favorites in this crop of books.

Reunion In Death ~ B+
In this one a wealthy well liked man is poisoned at his "surprise" party while doing the toast. The killer is a criminal from Eve's past who was recently released from prison. We also get to meet Peabody's parents Sam and Phoebe who are two very interesting people. I liked that we new who the killer was right from the beginning again.

Purity In Death ~ A+
This one was probably one of the most out there of all the "In Death" books I have read so far the victims are being killed by a computer virus that can be transmitted to humans. The book starts with a man who just goes insane and starts beating his neighbors, Officer Trueheart happens to be in the area and responds to a woman's call for help where he ends up killing the man. At this point Eve and company have no clue what happened so she gives the computer to EDD where the officer who is studying it goes insane and ends up hurting Mcnab and taking Feeney hostage. At this point the have figured out the problem is connected the computer but don't know much else. The book was really good I liked the whole thing I could feel the emotions coming off the pages and it pulled me right into the story.

Portrait In Death ~ B+
A college student is murder and thrown into a recycle bin but prior to that the killer sends pictures to channel 75 reporter Nadine Furst. In another unrelated to the case Roarke learns some stuff about his past that he didn't know. This one goes in all kinds of different directions it has a good case, some problems for Eve and Roarke, and many more developments.

Finished Two Trilogies

The Pagan Stone ~ Nora Roberts ~ B-
The 3rd and final book in the Sign of Seven Trilogy. The book is about Gage and Cybil and continues the story from the first two books about trying to get rid the town of the demon Twisse who causes havoc every seven years. The book had a lot of rehash from the other two books. I liked the pairing of Gage and Cybil and was looking forward to their story but the romance fell a little flat for me. Over all I liked the Trilogy it wasn't my favorite trilogy of hers that would be the Key Trilogy but there still a good read.

Fish Out ofWater ~ Mary Janice Davidson ~ C+
The book is about Fredrika the mermaid. The underwater people have came out of hiding and showed them selves to the world so now Fred is the go middle man between the mermaids and the rest of the population. She has to deal with all of her family/friends showing up an few more suprises. I liked the first two books they were funny with lots of laugh out loud and i loved the cast of characters, but the 3rd one wasn't has funny and didn't seem like a romance (thier was very little til the end). I would recommend this just if you read the 1st two and want the closure of the series.

Still Reading the In Death Series By J.D. Robb aka Nora Roberts

Ceremony In Death ~ B-
This books starts with the death of a fellow police officer Frank Wojinski who died of a heart attack, Capt. Whitney wants Eve to look into the his death but not to tell anyone she is investigating. This puts her a odds with Feeney who was Frank's former partner. When his granddaughter commits suicide Eve's investigation leads her to Satanic Group and a group called the Wiccan. Eve has to look past all the smoke and mirrors to see whats real and whats not.

Vengeance In Death ~ B+
In this one Summerset is being set up for murder due to his and Roarke's past, it's Eve responsibility to clear him. We learn a lot about Roarkes past and how he became who he is today. We are also introduced to a new character E-Detective the slightly weird Ian McNab who clashes with Officer Peabody. This one left me guessing at the murderer with a twist at the end.

Holiday In Death ~ A+
This one is one of my favorites so far. Someone is murdering people and gaining access to them by dressing up as Santa Clause. All the victims have a a connection to the dating service company Personally Yours. There is a lot of great character interaction in this book and it happens a Christmas time so we get to see what Eve gets all of her friends and Roarke for Christmas.

"Midnight In Death" ~ B-
This is one of the short stories in the series in centers around a escaped convict who Eve put behind bars he is killing anyone who helped put him there. It happens right after the events in Holiday In Death.

Conspiracy In Death ~ B+
Eve is confronted with a series of murders committed on the less favorable members of society, She also has confutation with another officer (Bowser) who files a grievance against Eve. Eve ends up being suspended for something totally not her fault. I loved how all the supporting characters support Dallas.

Loyalty In Death ~ A+
Another one of my favorites in the series opens Eve being called to a cut and dried murder that's end up not being so cut dry. She also has to deal with a group called Cassandra who are bombing landmarks in New York. We meet Peabody's brother Zeke who has some problems of his own, also McNab and Peabody take relationship to a different level.

I am really enjoying the series most of the books I can't put down and I am staying up to late reading them.

In Death Series by JD Robb

I just started reading the "In Death Series" by JD Robb aka Nora Roberts. I bought the first two years ago and started the the first one I got about 2 chapters into it and it wasn't grabbing my attention. I recently decided to give them another try and I am enjoying them this time around.

Naked In Death ~ C+
The first book Lt. Eve Dallas (police detective) meets Roarke (billionaire) for the first time at a funeral he is a suspect in a case of the murder of the high class call girl. The book introduces a lot of the characters that are reoccurring in the series Mavis, Feeney, Nadine & Summerset. She eventually solves the case while falling for Roarke in the process. The book to me was just an average book, but I still wanted to see what happens next.

Glory In Death ~ B-
In the 2nd book Eve is investigating a series of murders of successful career woman. We see on going relationship of Eve and Roarke at the end of the book he proposes. We also meet Delia Peabody a police officer who becomes one of the major characters in the series(so far my favorite character). I really started to get into the books and really want to know what happens to the characters.

Immortal In Death ~ B+
The book is about series of murders that are all connected even though the method of death is different in each one they a revolve a drug called immortality. Mavis ends up being the main suspect, so Eve works extra hard to clear her. We get the answer to Roarke's marriage proposal and the wedding plans the book ends with Eve and Roarke's wedding. This one is my favorite of the ones I read so far.

Rapture In Death ~ B-
The book opens with Eve and Roarke on their honeymoon, Their is an apparent suicide at Roarke new space resort that is being built. After Eve and Roarke get home their is another suicide and in the process she finds out about another one that happened when she was on her honeymoon. Eve is unsettled by the 3 suicides so close together; the ME ends up finding little burn marks on the victims. In their personal life Eve and Roarke are adjusting to married life.

I am enjoying the series so far for me it started out slow but I plan on continuing reading the rest of the series with some breaks with other books in between. I love the characters and their interactions. One of the things that surprised me was how fast Eve and Roarke got married I kinda thought that would drag out over the series for awhile but it didn't bother me.

2 New Reviews

Marliss Melton ~ Too Far Gone ~ B-

The hero Sean Harlan & heroine Ellie Stuart met in the last book when she bought the hero of that books son to him who she was raising. When Ellie's sons are kidnapped she contacts Sean to help her find them. The police think that Ellie and or Sean are the main suspects in the kidnapping. So they set off on their own adventure following any leads they can to locate her children. The book also has a subplot featuring an undercover FBI agent and a rich heiress. I liked the book for the most part only a few minor concerns for me but still a very well written good book.

Jean Johnson ~ The Flame ~ B+

I love the Sons of Destiny Books they are has quickly becoming one of my favorite series. This book is about the seventh brother Koranen(a fire mage) and Danau (aquamancer). Danau and 3 other aquamancers come the Nightfall to study the islands permanent magical water source. Koranen then has to figure out which one is his destined mate. The book is filled with laugh out loud moments and good written story maybe a little slow at times. I really really didn't like the cover of the book it doesn't fit in with the rest of them and I usually don't care about covers. I love the whole cast of characters in the books and can't wait for the 8th book. If you haven't read any of the series you should definitely given them a try.

My Latest Reads All Paranormal!

Listed in Order in enjoyed them:
Sherilyn Kenyon ~ One Silent Night
~ Grade: A+
I am one the people who still likes almost all of Ms. Kenyon's Dark Hunter books. This book is about Stryker leader of the Daimons and Zephrya his ex-wife. The main plot of the book is Stryker lets loose an ancient evil named War to kill Ash and Nick, Artemis finds out and sends Zephrya out to kill Stryker. This book as a lot of new information about the DH world and some major changes in it. I liked that the villains got a HEA, which often doesn't happen and I found it interesting to read. In her world the theme I like about them is almost everyone as good and bad in them and not every thing is black and white. The book is little on the short side(not as short as Upon a Midnight Clear which was one the books in the series I haven't liked), but I still good read especially if your a die hard Dark Hunter fan.

Kerrelyn Sparks ~ All I Want For Christmas is a Vampire ~ Grade: A
I really like Ms. Sparks Love at Stake series, this one had me enjoying the book right at the beginning and pulled right back into her world. This book is about Ian Macphie and Toni Davis. Ian has been one of my favorite character in past books. The plot is Toni's roommate gets attacked by Vampire and is placed in a Mental Institution so Toni sets out to prove that vampires are real and in process ends up getting attacked by the evil vampires. The good vampires save her and end up offering her a job at their security company, where she meets Ian who is own mission to meet his one true love. The book was funny and I really liked it.

Robin T. Popp ~ The Haunting ~ Grade: B+
The is the 7th installment of the Immortals series. I have read all of them and for the most part enjoyed them. This one is about Mai a wood nymph and Nick a spirit walker. Mai is having some issue since the final battle in book book 4, she is having some bad dreams and hallucinations, she seeks out Nick to help her with her dreams after a interesting 1st encounter she contacts him to help find her missing neighbor.

Allyson James ~ The Dragon Master ~ Grade: B
This is the 3rd book in her dragon series. The heroine is Carol Juan and the hero is Seth a Red Fire dragon. We met Carol in the first two books, she is a serious and determined person who doesn't believe in dragons. She is actually a Dragon Master and can call any dragon to her which is how she meets Seth(who isn't happy about being pulled out of dragon space). I thought this book was pretty good but not my favorite in the series.

Christine Warren ~ One Bite with a Stranger ~ Grade: B-
This is actually a reissue expanded version of her 1st Other Book, which was E-book through Ellora's Cave. The heroine Regina and her friends are trying to make their fantasy come true, Regina is not as open as this than her girlfriends but reluctantly agrees to her finds planing her fantasy which includes a vampire to sleep with if. She ends up going to club where she suppose to meet the "vampire" her friends knows but ends up meeting Misha a real vampire instead. This book was OK I really don't like the original plot device so after that it was hard for me to warm up to the book after that.

Jaci Burton ~ The Darkest Touch ~ Grade: C+
This is the 3rd book in the demon hunting series. The book is about Angelique an archaeologist and Ryder a demon hunter. The is also a subplot featuring Angelique's twin Isabelle and Dalton another Demon hunter. I had hard time remembering the last book in the series so it took me a little while to remember the past characters and some off the setup for this book. I thought is was an okay book to me wasn't a great book but wasn't an awful book.

latest reads

Karen Chance ~ Midnights Daughter ~ Grade: B-

Dorina Basarab is Mircea's daughter from the Cassandra Palmer books (we don't find this out till this book I think), she is a dhampir which is half human/half vampire. The main story line is her father wants her to help find her uncle Dracula to imprison him again, with the aid Louise-Cesare.I have only recently began reading Urban Fantasy and most of them have been in 1st person so I do not have a lot of comparison to other UF books but I enjoyed this one. It had few minor problems like sometimes I wish I knew what Louise-Cesare was thinking and a few times she cuts away from something and then explain's what happened in the next scene. If you like UF or any of Karen Chance's other books you should give this one a try, you might be a little lost if you never read any of her other books especially with some of then secondary characters.

Jeanne Ray ~ Julie and Romeo & Julie And Romeo Get Lucky ~ series Grade: B+

I found Julie and Romeo at my local libraries book sale for $1.00 it looked interesting and the story featured rival florists getting together so I bought It. When I got home looked the book up to see any reviews on it and found there was sequel so I bought that, to read them back to back. When I started the 1st book, I almost stopped reading right away because of the age of the Main Characters (50+) and because they were in 1st person point of view, which I thought wouldn't interest me, but I was wrong. The Main story of the 1st book is that Julie and Romeo run into each other at seminar they decide to go out after and talk even though there families have been feuding for all there lives. They end up starting to fall for each other; the ensuing story is what happens when there families find out. The second book main story line is Julie's granddaughter has a lottery ticket obsession and what happens when she wins. It also continues with resolving the open issues from the 1st book and see how they have adjusted to J&R's relationship. Both books are written very well. The surrounding families in each book are wonderful yet have there own issues and Idiosyncrasies that all families have. There are a lot of funny parts. They are very feel good books and have much happier endings then Romeo and Juliet that the titles play off of. If you like family sagas then give these a try.

My Latest Reads

Deirdre Martin ~ Power Play ~ Grade B+
Good book it's the latest in a series about the Fictional NY Blade. The books goes with the others in the series, but I think it would also stand alone nicely.

JR Ward ~ Black Dagger Brotherhood Companion ~ Grade B+
Theirs a short story about with Z and Bella. A small time line, Dossier's on all the brothers, a question and answer section and a preview of the next book Lover Avenged. If you are a brotherhood fan you will most likely like this book. The short story was good and I liked the dossier section because it breaks down each brother and gives more insight into the whole world. If you haven't read any of the brotherhood books then this isn't the book for you.

Allison Brennan ~ Playing Dead ~ Grade A-
This is the third book in her Prison Break Trilogy and I think it was my favorite of the whole trilogy, it did a really good job of wrapping every thing up. I really like her characters they all seem like real people.

Joy Nash ~ Immortals: The Crossing ~ Grade B+
I have enjoyed the immortals series, some more than others. I liked Mac in the first set of books, I think he was one of my favorite supporting Characters in the books, So I was definitely looking forward to this book and it didn't disappoint. The only thing I didn't was some of the the heroine actions.

I also plan to blog about the movies I've watched recently and my favorite TV Shows. I am a huge movie fan I watch just about any type of movie except horror movies, the last movie I watched was The Forbidden Kingdom, I thought it was a great I give it a B+. I am a huge reality TV fan( Survivor, Big Brother, Project Runway, and most of VH1's shows plus many more. My two favorite TV Shows are Lost and Criminal Minds, I also like the original CSI. I watch mostly reality TV because I until recently I worked mostly evening's during prime time TV. Most reality shows are online and I can watch when I have time, plus some of the cable channels repeat the shows after midnight.
